We can stick anything into the fog and make it look like a ghost.
But tonight let us not become tragedies.
We are not funeral homes
with propane tanks in our windows
lookin’ like cemeteries.
Cemeteries are just the Earth’s way of not letting go.
Tonight, poets, let’s turn our wrists so far backwards
the razor blades in our pencil tips
can’t get a good angle on all that beauty inside.
Step into this.
With your airplane parts.
And repeat after me with your heart:
I no longer need you to fuck me as hard as I hated myself.
Make love to me
like you know I am better than the worst thing I ever did.
I’m new to this,
but I have seen nearly every city from a rooftop
I have realized that the moon
did not have to be full for us to love it.
That we are not tragedies
stranded here beneath it.
That if our hearts
every time we fell from love
I’d be able to offer you confetti by now.
But hearts don’t break, y’all,
they bruise and get better.
We were never tragedies.
We were emergencies.
You call 9 – 1 – 1.
Tell them I’m havin’ a fantastic time.
I’ll update with a ComiXology link later but…
STORM CHASERS IS LIVE
After all this time.
Currently, you can get it Pay-What-You-Want from €1 on Gumroad
Synopsis: 2 Storm Chasing energy merchants gather power from an eternal storm to supply to the floating city that rose up to save civilisation in the midst of an apocalypse. One day, a noble from the floating city plummets to the earth. Subsequently saved from the frontier by the Storm Chasers, they promise to deliver the noble to the nearest orbital elevator; 3000 miles away.
So last night I had the privilege of reading this. It’s gorgeous and full of heart, and is very much deserving of a read.
It’s a complete steal at €1. I’m not big on posting things on here that aren’t my own, but Storm Chasers by the lovely(though he’ll kill me for saying it) Ken Mahon is really worth picking up.
Did a fairly quick paint on a sketch from last night. Have a few issues with it, but mostly really like it!
Partly tried on Quillery's style.
